THE POSITION AND OPPORTUNITY

Azure is a leader in drone data capture and advanced visual intelligence solutions for high risk and high-volume assets. We provide intelligent unmanned robotic solutions for energy, power network, mining, oil and gas, and infrastructure projects with a mission to empower efficiency and safety in inspection activities.


Our expanding operations team is seeking an experienced Chief Remote Pilot to lead our flight operations and our growing team of remote pilots. This role will be full-time and based on Tonsley, South Australia. Salary $70,000 to $90,000.


Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the lead remote pilot responsible and accountable for commercial flight scopes

  • To manage on-site flight teams during commercial flights

  • Communicating operational updates to senior management

  • The creation and evaluation of Risk Assesment and Methodology Statements

  • Enforcing organisational procedures

  • Defining and supporting the operational flight requirements of the business

  • Providing inspired leadership of our growing team of remote pilots

  • Managing the maintenance of our fleet of RPAS

 SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

 ESSENTIAL:

  • Significant, current experience in a similar role

  • Experience flying UAVs in a variety of environmental conditions

  • At least 200 hours of UAV flight time
    Experience in conducting asset inspections across a range of industries including oil and gas, power utilities, ports, mining and construction

  • Experience using AVCRM

  • An understanding of ISO9001, 14001 and 45001 Management Systems

  • Current Remote Pilot Licence (RePL), preferably Multirotor up to <25kg

  • Aeronautical Remote Operator Certificate (AROC) Licence

  • Enthusiastic attitude, and a willingness to learn new skills quickly

  • Excellent attention to detail, high levels of organisation, and ability to communicate effectively as part of a remote team

 ADDITIONAL (would be beneficial but not Absolutely required):

  • The ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experience working offshore would be an advantage

  • Experience with photogrammetry or LiDAR data collection and interpretation

  • Experience working in high-risk environments

  • Working at Heights

  • Confined Space Entry

  • First Aid

  • Current BOSIET/FOET and offshore medical

 PERSONAL

  • Must be an Australian Citizen or must have an existing right to work in Australia

  • Current Australian driver’s license
